We’re here to help you and your dog have your best life and sports career together, so please contact us if you have questions about a class, your dog’s suitability, or need a recommendation.

The Basics

Help your pup put their best paw forward with one of our foundation manners classes.

Whether you've got a puppy or an older dog that's new to you or that maybe just needs a little refresher, these classes are a great place to begin (or reset) your paw-sitive training relationship with your pup.

Most classes run for either four or six weeks.

Classes are listed below in order of progression.

Classes marked with a star (⭐️) are more specifically tailored for handler-dog teams who want to participate in dog sports.

Puppy Kindergarten :: 8–16 Weeks Old 🐶

This 4-week class is ideal for new puppy owners with limited experience in raising a puppy. You’ll learn practical solutions for the challenges of puppyhood, including how to handle puppy biting and mouthiness, crate training and confinement, potty training, problem prevention, and other puppy-related issues. The focus will be on engagement, relationship, socialization, and basic life skills. This is not a skills/obedience class. This class also does not include “puppy playtime”—each puppy will be working with his owner on all the fun activities. We recommend that you take one of our Manners classes concurrently or shortly after completing this series.

Rolling admission for this class means that you pick a day and time and join any week that has an opening. Once you start the class, you have a reserved spot for four weeks.

If your puppy is older than 16 weeks and you feel that this is a more appropriate class for your dog based on size, confidence level, mental maturity, and so on, please contact us.

Barn Hunt

Barn Hunt tests a dog’s ability to locate and signal the presence of rats hidden in a controlled environment. The sport emphasizes the natural instincts and skills of dogs in hunting and tracking, providing a fun and engaging activity for both dogs and their handlers.

In a typical Barn Hunt competition, dogs navigate through a course of straw or hay bales to find PVC tubes containing rats. The tubes have holes for the dogs to sniff, but the rats are safely enclosed and unharmed. Dogs must indicate the location of the rats by barking, digging, or displaying other signs.

Barn Hunt competitions are held at various levels, allowing dogs of different skill levels to participate and enjoy the sport.

Disc Dog

Disc dog, also known as “Frisbee dog,” involves a handler and their dog performing a series of tricks and catching flying discs. The objective is for the dog to catch the discs thrown by the handler in various ways, showcasing agility, speed, and coordination.

The sport has gained popularity worldwide and emphasizes the bond between a handler and their dog, as well as the dog’s natural abilities in catching and retrieving objects.

Competitions typically consist of two main events: freestyle and distance/accuracy. In freestyle, teams perform choreographed routines set to music, highlighting the dog’s athleticism and the handler’s skill in throwing and directing the discs.
